Consultations & Educational Offerings
Individual and small group on-site consultations available upon request. These informal consultations include help with coop layout/ design, choosing a breed(s), neighbor issues, general trouble-shooting, and/or specific flock concerns.
For a group of 10 or more, a two-hour workshop can often be arranged at your local library or community center. Workshop offerings include "City Chickens: Keeping Hens in Urban Areas", "Backyard Chickens for Beginners", "Backyard Chickens: Beyond the Basics" (Intermediate), and "Chickens Make Great Pets!" (for ages 6-10, this 45 minute program includes handling live chickens).
Classroom programs for preK-8 and school consultations (for beginning a flock of hens at your school!) are also available. Possible classroom programs include baby chicks, embryology, chicken biology/ anatomy, avian behavior, and bird ecology and evolution.
